Online dictionary defines Homebody as someone who prefers activities that centered around home. That is as farther away from truth as possible.

Just because I am at home doesn't mean I am free and available for gossiping, recipe exchange or whatever else people might have in mind. Housewives especially don't get it. They have a tendency to call up to ask something totally irreverent and then spend the next half an hour discussing the maid, husband or worse, mother-in-law, which can easily take one hour. And believe me they will not understand when you say that you have to work. “Aapka apna hi toh kaam hai…,” is something I often hear.  

I joined a yoga class recently and all I saw was confused looks when I said that I couldn’t come for two hours because I have to work. Why is it difficult to accept that a person can be working from home or spending time constructively at home, even if that person is female? 

This is almost impossible for my help to understand. She finds it incredulous that I stay at home but am still working. Initially she thought she could land whenever she felt like because I was always at home. It had to be literally drilled into her that just because I am home doesn't mean I am perpetually free, so the work had to be done at the same time every day, so that I can maintain my schedule.

I almost feel like shouting from my balcony…I work from home but am not a homebody. Ya sure is going to be the response even then…
