If I had to zero in for a theme for this year, it would be new beginnings. After much deliberations and hesitation, I have finally taken baby steps in the world of entrepreneurship. It is hardly anything to mention right now but hopefully soon I would be in a position to talk about the venture (or should I say ventures!! :)).
New beginnings are generally when the previous initiatives have come to an end. But not so this time. This time my freelancing goes on pretty much at the same pace even as I try to take out time for the new initiatives. Of course, this is not without challenges but it is also fun.
But this is just one part of the new beginnings. At the start of this year I decided that I would be reading at least two books every month and I am happy to report that I have been able to accomplish this...at least as of now. So I have read, All The Light We Cannot See by Anthony Doerr, Daughter By Court Order by Ratna Vira (who is also an acquaintance), Still Alice by Lisa Genova and Lives of Girls and Women by Alice Munro. All these books are fantastic but All the Light We Cannot See is an absolute must read. It remains with you for a very long time after you put it down. It is Sheer brilliance...
As this academic and financial year comes to an end, I would be again moving, which is good. This means that I would be at one place and would no longer be dividing time between Delhi and Mumbai.
At the same time, this time away has helped me in putting some things in perspective. Frankly speaking I never thought being away from family and friends would be such a big deal but I guess it was. There were days when the hours would stretch before me with nobody to talk to and pretty much nothing to do. Starbucks was home for most part of the day but how much coffee can you have and how many times can you roam around in the mall...it took boredom to a new level. I worked, watched TV/movies, did yoga, swimming but these are more or less solitary activities. The sheer loneliness and nothingness of it all was a learning experience. With hardly any social life whatsoever, it was not a fun time. For some reason, I also found it extremely difficult to make new friends, which hasn’t ever been an issue. Glad that this phase is over and done with. Can’t wait to be back!!

Hmm I never knew there was a word called journo. To be honest, it reminded me of the weird dude in the movie Eurotrip! He used to say bonjourno which I think is 'good day' in Italian. Good luck! You have earned a new follower!
Thanks for following...
I haven’t watched Eurotrip but I think you mean bonjour, which basically means `have a good day’ in French...
