The Morning Rush

Thanks to a medical issue I have been at home for about two weeks now and frankly was thoroughly at peace with not going to office for a few days. This is not normal in my family. Most of us are workaholics with the idea of spending more than three days at home being very unwelcome.

I was not missing work but I have to say that I quiet enjoy morning rush. I realized this as I was getting for work today after more than two weeks. Going to work gives a certain purpose to the entire day, which is almost totally missing if you are at home. Though I am not allowed to drive right now, I love driving to work on Delhi roads (with old hindi songs playing in the background). It is absolutely lovely to drive in Central Delhi before the rush hour begins.

Contrary to most people I am not too averse to getting up early in the morning. This is probably the reason why the first two-to-three hours of my office time are most important to me, when I get the maximum done. Usually I arrive at office much before the stipulated time. I like the quiet and the freshness of the office in the morning, when there is no one to talk to, no phone calls to bother you and one can totally concentrate on work totally without anything to disturb you.

Sigh!! I will miss all this and more...
