The Pain And Gain Of IPL

What do I hate most about April and May every year? It has to be IPL. I have absolutely zero interest in the game or the silly cheerleaders. In the first place, I am unable to get hold of the TV remote. And if I somehow do manage to get the remote, it is almost impossible to change the channel with four hands suddenly going all out to get it back from me. So, my dear friends, my evenings are now spent with my books. Weekends are especially painful because we don’t go out anywhere and of course, nobody is invited because that might take you away from your TV screen. All in all, a horrible time. I read a lot but I admit I am quiet cheesed off by all of this. And this has to go on till May 26 which is more than a month away. :(

I have resorted to meeting all the friends I was unable to meet earlier because of paucity of time. Secondly, believe it or not I have taken to sketching. Sometime back I felt an unbearable urge to start drawing and I got hold of my daughter’s pencil and paraphernalia and started copying the drawings (mainly landscape). I don't think I am good at it but for some reason I enjoy it a lot. So in the evenings you would find me either reading a book or with a sketching book trying to come out with something decent so that the daughter doesn't make fun of it.... Yesterday, the kiddo said something like, "You are not too bad for a beginner." I am trying to figure out if it was a compliment or if she was just being kind. One never really knows with kids nowadays.
