Robotics competition

I had an extremely tiring but exciting weekend. It was dominated by kiddo's robotics competition . Here are some pics of the winning team. After spending almost 10 hours at the event, I was ready to tear my hair apart and had started dreaming about my pillow and bed but then the name of the winning team was announced and the excitement was back again. Now the team goes on to compete in the finals next week.

At these events, you end up interacting with other mothers, which is always nice. I discovered that almost everyone is facing the same issues, so I should stop making mountains of the molehills. Another revelation was that we are nowhere near the effort some parents are making to ensure great performance of their children. We practice a fairly laid-back and relaxed parenting when compared to these mothers. Don't know whether this is good or bad. This is an eternal dilemma...

Also realised that my problems are almost nothing when compared with some of the problems others are facing. I met a mother who was not sure whether her child would be able to attend the next year's competition because he is suffering from cancer and undergoing chemotheraphy. What can you possibly say to her to make her feel better.

Here are some pics of the event:
