I have finally decided to get a private tutor for our daughter in Mathmatics. Not an easy decision for sure but I was clearly fumbling. I was unable to clear her doubts ...in fact, I think, I might have added to the confusion. She is obviously a bright kid and my poor humanities background is unlikely to be of much help.
I think tuition will help her in many ways: it will make her more confident about her abilities in Maths; it will be one-on-one session with the teacher so will definitely have positive impact and thirdly, it will form a routine and she would be required to do Maths everyday which is not happening currently. Besides I am a working woman who sometimes has to do a concall in the middle of the night so I do not have the wherewithal to take care of all her emerging educational requirement. However, I do have one concern, I just hope the private tuition does not burden her further but will clear her concepts and inspire her to stretch her limits...
So, while earlier I was confused whether or not to go for a private tuition, I am quiet sure I am making a right decision now. I just hope I have found the right tutor for her who brings out the best in her...
