Today for the first time played badminton with my nine-year-old and couldnt believe that she plays so well. I myself was playing after about 18-19 years and it brought back pleasant and happy memories. I always associate badminton with my friends in Kanpur.
How I used to look forward every day and we used to count the number of times we were able to hit without breaking the sequence. At one time we clocked more than 100 and the excitement once it reached 100 and then we were giggling and hitting at the same time. Once it reached 100 it we knew it was difficult to last so every time we would hit, we would giggle a little more and then finally we were laughing so hard that we were barely able to hit. And once the sequence ended we sat down on the ground happily giggling ...(sigh) those were the days. Today I really wished, I could go back in time and play badminton with my Kanpur gang in HAL Township in house no 311.
Coming back to the present, today was another exciting day of course. my kiddo didnt know that I can play badminton. She was excited to see her mother play and couldnt believe her eyes (pst pst actually suggested that i leave my job and become a full time badminton player...ha ha ha). Then came the moment of glory when she wanted to show off her mom's badminton skills and asked her friends to stand in a queue and play with me one by one. Awesome, totally unbelieveable. I kinda agree, small things have big impact. Who would have thought simply playing badminton with your kid and her friends can make you so happy and contended in life?

No better joy than a walk in the rain, see a kid smile, see ur old parents or grand parents have a hearty laugh, see your kids love you, your pet dog or whatever it is come and shower you with his love, the hot bhutta in rain, the peanuts in winters.. small and simple joys of life :D
yup, you are right...the essence of life is in small, simple and uncomplicated moments...:-)
Little things make life complete and worth living...
Tiny houses but lovely (in fact perfect) atmosphere to grow up...Delhi is just too materialistic...I do wish Khushi was growing up in a small town like Pune or Hyderabad (which offer all the advantages of a big town sans the snootiness)...
