I almost feel blessed to be given an opportunity to visit Langkawi again. After Kerala it is surely God's Own Country. Absolutely beautiful and mesmerising. Few interesting happenings:
1. I met a vivacious 85-year journalist from Australia. You read that right...85-yr old? What more do you want really? 85-yr old, sipping wine on a beautiful beach in Langkawi and talking about your boyfriend and lessons learnt in life. Sounds like a nirvana to me...I was amazed by her energy. I would be happy if I can manage even half her energy now...
2. This one is straight out of a book...I had the same co-passenger while going and coming back from Kuala Lumper. Almost the same seats and the same person sitting next to me??? Even now I find it unbelieveable. But life is made of strange coincidences.
3. I saw flying squirrel and also went for an eerie jungle walk. The resort I was staying was in the middle of lush green rainforest jungle with all types of creatures. The best aspect of this place was that it is totally cut off from the rest of the city. The worst aspect is that I was scared to go even for a little morning walk because well it was scary and eerie and who knows if wild bear comes by to say hello. Once I decided to take my camera to go for a stroll. I came back running at full speed within five minutes...:(
4. I did some major goofups during the trip. I landed in Langkawi in sport shoes and guess what that was the only footwear I had for the rest of the trip. The circumstances demanded that I had to take a cab to the nearest market to buy some office footwear otherwise I would have to go to conference in sport shoes.
This was not all. I managed to pack my Delhi Vodafone Sim in check in baggage while coming back from Langkawi. So my fellow passengers saw a woman sitting on the floor of international airport with her open suitcase, scrambling wildly to find her Sim. So travelling with me is always eventful...
