I am giving myself a pat on the back for completing one and a half months of gymming. Tra la la la. Have tried about umpteen number of times to exercise regularly but have always failed miserably. Have tried yoga, getting up in the morning to exercise, joining gym etc etc, but failed everytime.
This time it is different...this time the doctor has prescriber physical exercise to me for various reasons. So I basically didnt have much option but to move my butt. Initially I viewed the situation as a sword on my neck but lately I find myself looking forward to it. This is because the time I exercise has become the time I think about the day ahead (or the day gone by in case i hit the gym in the evening). I have converted the exercise time to my time so I tend to enjoy it. The second reason I have started enjoying is that people tell me that I am looking different and better now (blush, blush :))
I enjoy treadmill the most because, I think, I like to go for long walks as well. But in Delhi you can hardly walk (it is either too hot, too cold or raining). Treadmill is followed by stationary cycle, which again I used to do a lot while growing up...rest everything, as far as I am concerned, is crap.
One big benefit for me is that I have automatically reduced my junk food intake. I have a sweet tooth and earlier found it difficult to say no to cakes, pasteries, ice creams etc. But now I dont think twice before saying no. Maybe I am becoming old...that is the usual inference if temptations stop tempting you, right?
