What a lovely weekend, the kinds that you wish goes on and on...:-). Yesterday we went for a play called, `Run for your Wife', which is just about average. In fact, if it was a movie, I think I would have walked out. However, we followed the play with a movie, `The Wizard of Oz' at the American Center today. I know it is a very well known movie but I have never ever watched it before. Though it was meant to be an outing for my daughter, I found myself thoroughly enjoying the movie. Lovely music and such a simple tale. Am sure will appeal to people of all age groups. Grab the DVD at the earliest...
One of the perks of staying in the capital city of New Delhi is if you want, you can watch the best and critically acclaimed movies and plays for free at the various film festivals. This being the season of festivals etc. we plan to take full advantage of it. One reason I would be attending a number of these events is that I think it is about time my nine-year old is introduced to the culture scene. I am a staunch believer of education beyond the books and regularly try to introduce her to new experiences. I think it changes and broadens your world view. There is another advantage as well. You get to meet other similar minded parents.
Next week we are off to visit Anish Kapoor exhibition at National Museum of Modern Art and will also try to visit Gandhi Smriti. I love visiting the latter at periodic intervals and always end up learning something new about Father of the Nation...A must visit for people of all age groups. And this is the right time...winter sun ensures that it is a very pleasant experience indeed.
