Year-end mood

Though the end of the year is a few months away, I have already started taking stock of the year gone by. It was a year of high and lows--just like life. High because I joined a new place of work and totally love my job. Also because I achieved a few of my personal goals like taking my daughter for an international vacation. At the same time there were also some lows. Lost a good friend for a ridiculous reason really but such is life.

But I look forward to the coming year as well. Some of my personal goals for the coming year:

1. Buy a DSLR camera. Have been thinking of this for a long time. In fact, want to take up photography as a hobby. Besides, join a photography course or start reading about it to self learn the art of photography.

2. Go for another vacation, of course :-). Some of the places which are on my list are Bhutan, Pondicherry, Kerala (though have been there before), Ladakh (was planning Ladakh this year but the cloud burst ensured that I was not able to go), Italy and New Zealand. Most likely Ladakh should happen in 2011. Goes without saying that goal number 2 will not even be contemplated till goal no 1 is accompolished. Besides, want to save enough for a backpack tour of Europe in 2012.

3. To continue to work on some personal writing projects which I hope to finish soon so that I can set up some new goals. This is of prime/utmost importance.

4. This one is the most difficult of all but I think it is either now or never: GET UP EARLY IN THE MORNING TO EXERCISE.

I guess will add more by the time 2010 comes to an end...
