I like to think of myself as a rational, logical person who takes decision based on reason. But this won't be entirely true. I hate to admit even to myself but I definitely come in the category of superstitious.
Acceptance of this fact is especially difficult because I come from a family which doesnt believe in astrology and related sciences at all. Ours must be one of the few families in the country which doesnt get a horoscope made...there is no matching of horoscope at the time of wedding etc. etc.
I can almost hear my grandfather admonishing me every time I visit a soothsayer. I clearly am not a chip of the old block. Even a whiff of a crisis is likely to make me run to a nearest astrologer/numerologist/tarot card reader...yes, yes I have been to all. I do realise that it is all hogwash and I have never ever done any corrective measures suggested by them. For me, the reason is simple--it has therapeutic value. It gives me an outlet to ask questions which can neither be asked nor answered in the realm of reality. It is for this reason that I dont prefer one science over another. It is all the same to me. I go to them for some kind of assurance
It was in college, while going through a heart break, when I went to a tarot card reader for the first time. In retrospect, she didnt tell me anything about the future; it was more of a counselling session. This was the first time that I discovered the positive impact of the session. Even though I did enjoy the session, I also felt guilty and wilfully decided not to visit any in future.
I kept that pledge for almost 10 yrs but a personal crisis about three years back saw me at the doorsteps of a astrologer. I still dont do any corrective measures suggested by them but I still like to ask them. Sometimes I visit the same astrologer again after a period of time to see whether he/she comes up with same predictions. Many a times they dont, which does put a questionmark over their predictions and the rationalist in me rears and gleefully says, `I told you so.'
Is it a sign of weakness or is it just human that I visit an astrologer whenever there is a crisis? Dunno.

Well , Astrology they say also is based on mathematics...
Even I come from a family of non-believers but I do resort to it and the likes :)
yup, I totally agree, astrology is a science but the point is it is best not to know what is going to happen because you cannot change anything...but we are all human at the day of the day :-)
